Magma open days

I am still in Germany, although I was hoping to be home this weekend to do some turning. I also belong to an online German woodturning forum 'Drechsler Forum', where I got the information that the Austrian manufacturer of heavy duty lathes, Magma is hosting three days with international demonstrators this weekend http://www.magma-tools.de/
I was really keen to go as there are some people demonstrating that I would have loved to see. Nick Agar, who was in South Africa two years ago, Jean Francois Escoulen who has always intrigued me with his excentric turning and an number of others. Unfortunately I am working this weekend and it is about 300km away from Ulm where I am working so it will have to be next year.

My first blog

Due to work requirements, I travel a lot and therefore spend many hours on airports. In order to kill the time and also relax between the travels, I am usually on the internet looking on new ideas or tools for my favourite hobby, woodturning. This is also the reason for my blog, as it is a good way to keep in contact with other turners. Since January 2011, the time spent in my workshop has been limited, but I managed to finish a few pieces which I included on my portfolio page.
